 The Kochi story

Sports coaches - the true legends of weekend sports fields - arrive at training and games loaded up with various bags of balls, cones, bibs, poles, match boards and more. There's got to be a better way... 

 

We're Chris Sheedy (above) and Darren Power (below), Canberra-based founders of Pythons FC football school.

Over several years, as we ran our summer football school and individually coached multiple teams of various age groups at numerous clubs during the winter season, we got fed up with carrying armfuls of bags and other gear back and forth across often soggy fields.

Our families also had a few words to say, every so often, about the chaos those bags and equipment created in our car boots and garages.

When we searched for solutions, we were frustrated by the lack of coach-specific focus. Considering there are over 45,000 coaches in Australia in the sport of football alone, you'd think we would have earned a little more love!

And so, we designed and developed Kochi - Japanese for coach! It's an all-in-one solution focussing on the needs of coaches, beginning with football. However, our solution is equally valuable to coaches of other round-ball sports, such as netball, volleyball, water polo, etc.

Kochi has launched as a provider of premium, coach-specific bags for the Australian market, with the intention of quickly expanding our line to other territories, other sports and other products that make a coach’s job easier.

In the market today, every other sporting participant is provided for – including players, referees, fans, etc. Coaches are largely ignored. Our mission is to solve that problem.
